Annual Summaries of Domestic Violence Fatalities in Washington State

2015 Domestic Violence Fatalities In 2015, 54 people died in Washington State as a result of domestic violence. These deaths include domestic violence victims killed by partners or ex-partners; friends, family members, and bystanders killed by abusers; and abuser’s suicide deaths following domestic violence homicide or attempted homicide.

2014 Domestic Violence Fatalities  In 2014, 44 people died in Washington State as a result of domestic violence. These deaths include 17 women and 2 men killed by abusive partners or ex-partners; friends, family members, and bystanders killed by abusers; abusers killed by victims, their friends or family, or law enforcement officers; and abuser’s suicide deaths following domestic violence homicide or attempted homicide. 2013 Domestic Violence Fatalities In 2013, 35 people were killed in Washington State as a result of domestic violence. This is significantly fewer than the 54 domestic violence deaths  in 2012, and the lowest in the seventeen years WSCADV has been collecting this data.
