This brief published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence commentates on the relationship between criminal records, racial background, and housing instability. This preliminary, cross-sectional analysis gathered data from the DVHF longitudinal study to seek understanding between the associations between criminal record, race, and housing vulnerability. The surprising nature of these findings show us there is much more research to be done in order to gain deeper understanding of how housing discrimination impacts survivors of different racial backgrounds and associations with criminal background history.
