Prepare for the 2023 Washington State Legislative Session with our Guide!

The WA State Capitol Building is in the background with white text that says "2023 Washington State Legislative Session." The gold WSCADV logo is in the lower right corner.

The 2023 state legislative session is upon us! On January 9th, we will be heading into a long session (105 days) which means there is more time to pass bills and negotiate a brand new biennial budget for 2023-2025, with the fiscal year starting July 1, 2023. We’ll keep you updated on bills we’re supporting, opposing, and monitoring during the session on our State Legislative Advocacy page.

Our top priority this session is a joint $132 Million budget request with other crime victim services organizations in hopes that the State will make a commitment to invest in survivor services long-term. WSCADV will be working hard to represent the Coalition and survivors – but we can’t do it without you!

There will be many opportunities to get involved during this session. We encourage you sign up for our Action Alerts and review our 2023 Legislative Session Guide to learn more about our budget request and how you can advocate for this funding, with advocacy tips straight from a former legislative assistant!

After reviewing our guide, we hope you’ll join us for our Domestic Violence Advocacy Days on February 6-8, 2023 where we will share more advocacy tips and schedule virtual appointments for you to meet with your legislators!

Also, we’ll be hosting check-ins every other week for our member programs during the legislative session. Please join us to hear updates and opportunities for action!
