Washington has a state health insurance program called Washington Apple Health (or Medicaid) that pays for most health care services, including abortion. Some health insurance plans, including Providence Health Plan, refuse to cover most abortion-related services. The WA Department of Health will pay for abortion services for people with Providence Health Plans.
There are no laws restricting abortion access such as parental consent, informed consent, or waiting periods in Washington.
