Where You Are, We Are Here: A New Film on Home Visitor and Domestic Violence Advocate Partnerships

No matter where we’re from, what our families look like, or how much money we make, we all deserve the support and resources we need to care for ourselves and our families. Our new film, Where You Are, We Are Here, uplifts the innovative partnership between community-based home visitors and domestic violence advocates as they work together to deepen support of survivors and their families. Working hand in hand, home visitors and domestic violence advocates support survivors, their families, and communities to be safer, stronger, and more connected.

Home visitors and domestic violence advocates know that parents and caring adults are their kids’ best teachers and that survivors need to be at the center of decision making for their safety and healing. Building on the research of the Domestic Violence Housing First approach, elevating the wisdom of survivors, and using flexible financial assistance to support family wellbeing, housing, autonomy, and safety, home visitors and domestic violence advocates form a unique partnership that strengthens the whole family.
