Because Washington State recognizes that “people have the right to choose or refuse to have an abortion,” state-regulated health plans are required to provide abortion coverage.  Some health insurance plans, such as Providence Health Plan, refuse to cover most abortion-related services.  The WA Department of Health will pay for abortion services for people with Providence Health Plans.  If you have questions, please contact
