All Things DV Intervention Treatment for Advocates
October 23 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Ever wish you could provide survivors with more about DV Intervention Treatment (DVIT)? Many of us have been told the standard response to survivors about DVIT is that it doesn’t work, so just don’t worry about it. Yet, we know that survivors desperately want their abusive partners to change, if not for their sake or for their children’s, at least for the sake of the next partner.
Come learn from Amie Roberts, DSHS DVIT Program Supervisor as she explains best practices in DVIT, what the new WAC 388-60B sets forth as regulations, risk assessments and treatment levels, as well as information on two new interventions being introduced in Washington (Strength At Home and Internal Family Systems) and how to inform, equip and prepare survivors for their partner’s participation in DVIT or other modalities (and how to safety plan in that context).
