2025 Washington State Legislative Session

Securing stable funding for crime victim services is our top priority this year. With a significant decline in federal funding, many victim service programs across Washington are at risk of closing or drastically reducing services. Without reliable funding, survivors of domestic violence face overwhelming barriers to accessing life-saving support, including emergency housing, legal advocacy, counseling, and trauma support for children.

WSCADV supports HB 1487 & SB 5362, legislation that would provide stable, ongoing funding for survivor services. These bills request $50 million for the OCVA crime victim’s program in the upcoming biennium budget, with a plan to increase funding to $70 million over time. We urge legislators to support these bills and invest in a sustainable safety net for survivors. Supporters can help by contacting their legislators and urging them to pass HB 1487 & SB 5362—your voice makes a difference.
