May 19, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
  • This event has passed.

Working with children impacted by domestic violence also means working with their parents and families.

Join Dr. Linda Chamberlain and come learn about an educational toolkit that promotes resilience and facilitates community conversations on a trauma-informed approach to domestic violence (DV) and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). This educational toolkit is based on work from domestic violence advocates and the experiences from other trauma-informed programs. Using a popular education approach, Capacitar promotes mind-body-spirit practices to build resiliency, self-regulation and healing. These practices are easy to learn and teach.

Dr. Chamberlain is an internationally recognized keynote speaker and advocate for health issues related to domestic violence, adverse childhood experiences, brain development and trauma, and the amazing adolescent brain. She is known for her abilities to translate science into practical information with diverse audiences and convey a message of hope and opportunity.
