This full-time, temporary 9-month role supports high-risk domestic violence survivors through advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, legal support, and coordination with community partners. The DVHRT Specialist works closely with the Legal Services Manager to ensure survivor safety while upholding YWCA’s commitment to racial and gender equity. The position offers a 4-day, 32-hour workweek with 8 hours of company-sponsored time, $24.96/hour pay plus a $1.00 bilingual differential.
This role manages and supervises SafeChoice shelter staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with YWCA policies, contracts, and state/federal regulations. Key duties include developing training plans, coordinating mental and behavioral health supports, overseeing risk management and reporting, and collaborating with community partners. The position also provides on-call coverage, occasional shift support, and participation in organizational and community meetings.
The Hickman House joint component transitional housing and rapid rehousing program provides confidential housing services to survivors of domestic violence and their children. The Administrative Assistant (AA) position is the first point of contact for the office, both in person and on the phone. The AA is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the program, and advocate staff, and will require work hours to include 1 evening per week. This position will manage sensitive and detailed information and requires someone who is organized with great attention to detail and can multi-task. The AA will also drive a vehicle at times to attend meetings, pick up donations, and complete administrative errands and tasks.

This position is a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting and training front-line domestic violence advocates in their daily work with survivors involved with the legal system, and who is also energized about the longer-term goal of ending gender-based violence and addressing root causes of violence. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in survivor advocacy and a passion for helping advocates and directors to serve survivors more effectively.
The primary responsibility of the Housing Support Specialist is to work closely with individuals and families residing in the City of Seattle and/or King County who are experiencing instability and at risk of losing their housing. This short-term housing intervention is intended to connect program participants in crisis situations to supportive services to help ensure success in maintaining permanent housing.
The Children’s Advocate is responsible for developing and implementing services and activities that respond to the unique needs of children, youth and their parent experiencing homelessness due to domestic violence residing at Broadview. Broadview is a DV Shelter and Transitional housing site that is confidential.
The DV Resident Advocate (RA) ensures that there is a staff presence in the building at all times and supports the work of the case manager. The RA assists with promoting the well-being of residents through a team approach of the development of life skills and ensures that residents have the resources and tools needed to become self-sufficient and contributing members of their community.
The Domestic Violence Program Manager is responsible for developing and coordinating services to victims of domestic violence in shelter, transitional housing, and the Broadview’s RRH program. This position provides legal advocacy services, as well as the supervision of the Broadview Domestic Violence RRH Advocate and interns. The Domestic Violence Program Manager is also part of the on-call supervision of team working evenings and weekends. During this time, the position is responsible for determining program staffing levels, providing staff supervision, and responding to emergency personnel including law enforcement, emergency medical providers and the fire department during client and building emergencies.
