Research over a two year period by WSCADV’s Domestic Violence Fatality Review found that more than half of abusers responsible for domestic violence related fatal shootings in our state were prohibited by law from owning firearms. Last week, our Managing Director, Kelly Starr, spoke to KIRO 7 News about the need for resources to enforce the laws we currently have to keep guns out of the hands of abusers deemed legally too dangerous to have them. Thanks to the King County Council for taking an important step to provide those resources.
